Early 20s in college I slept on the floor in an air mattress, only had laundry hampers for clothes, laptop on couch/bed, didn't have a cell phone yet

Shared a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 other guys, total rent was 750/mo + utilities (I paid about 350/mo total)

Was pretty chill, now I have 3500/mo in liabilities (620k mortgage, home worth 1 million). Job pays well though (140k + benefits).

I've thought about quitting, selling the house, buying elsewhere in cash, and just checking out.

My life:
>OPs pic

Ted's life:
>ugly wife that sunk her claws into him when he was young and stupid, literally looks like a goblin
>wife makes no money, has no education
>wife is hardcore feminist
>he pays for house, car, lifestyle, everything
>makes 40% more money than me, pays more tax on it, almost all goes to paying for his wife
>works 200% more than me to accomplish all this
>house looks like a fucking hipster bar, weird expensive lighting and 6000$ couch and shit, just because wife wants to impress other couples
>he sneaks off to the casino once a week to get blackout drunk and loses money on roulette just to keep his mind sane

Who has it better?

I lived like this for a while except even worse because it was a shitty trailer which was falling apart and there was no heating or AC. I had to huddle next to a space heater in the winter and have burns from falling asleep too close to it. I had been kicked out of my house and had to live there. I only had the main room and kitchen as well. The other rooms were filled with the owner's junk. They were hoarders.

>> No.56085223

I've lived like this. Basically after I was homeless I had a metal fold out chair, a TV with TV stand, and no Internet at first just a mini super NES I connected to play Earthbound and a stack of books to read the few waking moments I wasn't working. Slowly I got a futon and turned the air mattress into a real mattress then got that mattress off the ground with a matching night stand. Decorated the walls with cheap puzzles in frames. Finally got a cheap kitchen table and coffee table. If you're young my advice is don't spend a lot of money on furniture because your future wife will throw it out or give away most of it anyways.

Just got new “pet protection” carpet installed less than a year ago. I’m sure a professional steam clean will fix it up, but with prices today that’ll cost close to $500 if not more and I ain’t got time for that shit.

Really the only takeaway message here is that you shouldn't ever get married or otherwise hitch yourself financially to a woman. Especially so when you are young and don't understand the leverage you get as a man as you get older.

Of course roasties know this so there is nonstop relentless propaganda to make older men's lives miserable unless they man-up and marry those used up aging roasties. Don't get me started on the Myth of the Lonely Old Man.
