I'll explain AT&T. In 2021 they spun out the former Time Warner (Warnermedia) assets and merged it with Discovery. All well and good. Discovery shareholders made out like crack on the deal. 1-1 ratio. For every Discovery share you owned you got 1 new WBD share in it's place. The problem? T owners got the shaft. They did the deal with part of the terms being a Divvy cut. The market hated it, T owners hated it. Hell look at the historical yields of tips bonds aka real yields. From 2020 to 2022 they were NEGATIVE which meant bond yields when combined with inflation made you lose money. People were willing to buy bonds and lose money.

And now? We're at 5% and corporate bonds are up in the 6% range. That is going to heavily eat into company margins.
