That being said, 100K for most Americans, to have it sitting in a bank, is almost unfathomable. The few that have that much, have it tucked into stocks, bonds, or other things that actually PAY INTEREST... most bank accounts don't pay more than 1%, perhaps 2%...you can buy T-Bills and such, and make almost 6%, every month.

If this is you starting, i would skip the silver and go straight to gold. Look at how the spread (sell minus buy in %) is the smallest?

I forgot to mention but I don't want to buy interstate because of digital records. Thinking of just shopping in my area with cash, because there's no trace. I think sometimes they make you sign shit if it's over a certain point, but they do have to destroy those records after 6 years or something.
I just fucking hate the idea Australian Tax Office automatically knows how much I have on me due to records. They can't reasonably know that I have gold stashed away if I bought with cash.

Both coins look supremely sus, note how both have the exact same surfaces and "shoe polish" applied patina in spite of supposedly being ~100 years apart in age. One can rarely be 100% certain when judging from grainy photos on the internet, but I'm 99.99% sure that they are both modern Chinese forgeries, which also calls into question the legitimacy of everything else that might be even remotely decent in the whole collection. Also last fall the #silversqueeze stuff caused some dealer supply shortages. The premiums went up noticeably when they pulled that stunt. Cash loses you more than 10% right now. Investment grade bonds get you 4%.

Don't underestimate the ingeniosity of the (((government))) when it comes to steal your shit. There are more than one way to deprive us from PMs (mainly silber).
The most used one is simply to raise taxes on PMs' purchases and/or sales. Which is an abberation, money isn't supposed to be taxable. Just like it recently happened with silver in India and Germany.
And it's extremely effective, look at the UK, most stackers there only go for gold since they have to pay VAT on silver items, automatically putting them 20% behind.

To get back PMs in the system, they can put in place taxes' rebates if you pay in gold and silver, this method is slowly being implemented in several US states.

They can also prevent you from leaving the territory with your PMs by making it a taxable event, where you have to declare it and pay customs fees (at the airport for example), making sure no PM can effectively leave the country.

None of those (((methods))) are plain consfication, yet the end result is exactly the same, but at a slower pace and without the tyrannical mask. Truth is, it is still theft, and it is still a tyranny.

we shop around pretty often to see if we can find better mints to do work through and get things done, we did see one company offering platting for a better price but upon inpection their work is spottier than osbornes guys. osborne doesent actually do the gilding in house they send them out as well so i imagine there is a cut somewhere.

Actually, it is. A 24K gold plating (0.5 micron thick, the norm) cost $2 per square inch gold wise. And there is not a square inch to cover per coin..
