When the bond market is flooded with sellers trying to offload their bonds, the yields rise to attract buyers.

When there are lots of buyers hungry for the safety bonds (like when the stock market crashes or something bad happens) the sellers can offer lower yields and the buyers will take it.
This is all done automatically by the market makers. it's all computerized.

Bond prices and yields are inverse to each other, in other words, if bond prices go up, yields go down, if bond prices go down, yields go up

Market participants price bonds (and thus the yields the bonds are giving) based upon many factors, economic activity, demand for money, alternatives available, but the main, most important driver of bond prices is Federal Reserve monetary policy and forward guidance / expectations on future Fed policy.
Today, we got bad news from the jobs report showing hours cut, wages flat, unemployment rate going up from 3.5% to 3.8%, we had bad manufacturing/services data, bad international data too.
Normally, when seeing this bad data, the market would go "Oh, look, the data is weakening, this is good news, as it means Fed monetary policy is working, and they won't have to continue to be so aggressive to disrupt inflation / "over"-employment (past maximum employment)"
When market participants think this, it lowers the chances of future Fed rate increases, increases the chances of Fed rate cuts in the future. This increases the price of bonds, bonds rally, yields fall - it is why we rallied so hard last week, because of bad data coming out one after another, easing interest rate expectations.
