The premiums don't matter if the street price is low because you're buying the dips. My average cost for all silver is under 24 euros/oz, even including the collectible coins I bought.
I bought quite a bit earlier this month. I stopped buying altogether now that prices have gone back up. Now I wait for prices to dip again, and get some more cool shit, like maybe I can finish this Looney Tunes series. But I can wait for prices to drop, I'm very patient, methodical, relentless. Why 1:80? Why go by weight?
Instead, go by equal worth in fiat, loafs of bread or Bitcoin or whatever your reference is.
Say you have 1 part gold (say 40k€) and 1 part silver (say 40k€). Once the "worth" of silver goes up by 5% (to 42k€), you compensate by buying gold for 2k€, once gold gets pricier, you then buy silver, that way you have a reference and always act anti cyclical.
Your PMs then are balanced against other commodities and that all is then balanced against riskier investments, like stonks or BTC (don't).
Going by weight is arbitrary, it was wildly different in the past. For example, the Latin Money Union set it to 1:15 and that's what it was for as long as the Union stood. Before it was 1:25, after it dropped to 1:10 then went far beyond 1:30.

Not quite. The issue is that copper is the only base metal. It's fucking mental why they would do this when it would be cheaper to add cupronickel making it even better for circulation.

I see there is a "discussion" taking place here regarding the merits of one precious metal over another. I would like to declare with great zeal that the holders of gold will be champions when the day arrives. Although it wounds my soul deeply to favor one over the other. I must respectfully say the writing is on the wall as indicated by The Gold Restoration Act and the fervent central bank accumulation of Gold. The truth is, silver is the people's money but a future is being built that is not for the people. Act with haste and conviction, for whinging and seethe will be the way of things for holders of silver.

Both are good, but silver is better because it's undervalued compare to gold.
The historical price ratio is 1:15, but now it's 1:80.
Why buy gold, when you can buy up silver and have the ratio go down because of high demand?
You'll have gains with silver, with gold it just stays the same.

History shows that your statement is false. Most of the world outside of Europe - including all of Asia and the Americas - was was either bimetallic or on a silver standard for hundreds of years. Picrel is a silver trade dollar minted in Japan to compete internationally with Chinese, American, and Mexican silver coinage. Although gold was valuable all over the world, silver was the global money before gold.

The history of the Meiji government's attempt to straighten out the Japanese coinage mess it inherited from the Shogunate is very interesting.

The fear caused by the coming financial chaos will create more fools. The story of CBDC's, their inevitable adoption, and how crypto will play a role in that future is one story I can think of off the top of my head that could create a new bull market in crypto. Couple that with a out of control inflationary environment and people will be led to do and believe what the powers tell them. All it takes is an event and a rumor. The switch is already prepared, somebody just has to flip it.

Except they absolutely do care since currently the US Federal Goverment is running a deficit with a shrinking tax revenue and increased spending which is currently amounting to a baffling 20%. So yeah eventually, (very soon) something will break. The US Goverment will have a couple of option:

1) Technical default (won't happen)
2) Re-write the Federal Reserve Act. Currently the FED is a separate entity from the US Goverment whose mandate is to promote maximum employment and price stability, not to purchase US Goverment debt. But through political pressure they could theoretically force the FED to purchase the Government debt by turning the printer back on.

>Land and homes are simply too inherently valuable like PMs to become cheap. The only way for land values to collapse is with a mass culling of the population

Every generation is smaller than the previous one in the US. They have unlimited immigration from south of the border to keep the population high and put pressure on housing prices but even that won't last much longer because all the countries south of the border are below the replacement rate.

Houses are being built all the time, boomers are dying out leaving millions of homes vacant and they can't bring enough migrants to fill them all. We will see a massive housing price fall in the US soon.

If they can get commensurate rent, they will indeed buy high-priced houses.
Have you never played Monopoly? The ones who keep the budget properties and cash are the honey pots who lose.
They don't have to pump the market. They have the outright cash, and as a seller of a house, I know how attractive that is. We sold and closed in three weeks, all done. There aren't many richfags that can compete with that kind of leverage.
