I have a serious question and I need a serious answer. I usually follow my instincts but this is too serious without your advice. I have 20k between traditional and Roth TSP. Based on the recent bankers selling their shares like Bank of America I am feeling like I should pull as much money out as possible and buy gold and some more silver. I only have 6k of silver and roughly 3k of gold.

Worst case scenario would the TSP not recover? If it did how long would it take? Would it be better to just hold the silver and gold I have or to buy even more? I am really torn as my financial advisor told me to change my 100% 2050 L Fund into a 85% C fund and 15% S fund. Which I did. At the very least should I return my investment to the 100% L fund which is long term low risk?

I'm honestly looking for answers here and maybe this will help others out in the same situation some day.

The L funds are just a mix of of the G,F,C,S&I funds that automatically adjust to favor the less volatile G(treasuries) and F(bonds) funds as you approach the target date. You can look up the various allocations on the TSP website. At 20k you’re probably early in your career so you should be favoring the C,S,I funds with their greater growth potential and not worrying about market shifts. If you can’t figure out how the five options in the TSP work you should in know way be mucking around and just plunk it in the L fund of your retirement date and forget about it.

Whatever is in the Roth, keep it there. Unless you're 59.5 or older, you'll pay penalties for taking it out. The idea in a Roth is that you have it invested in something that is supposed to grow. It shouldn't be simple savings. It defeats the purpose of having a Roth: tax-free growth.

As far as Queen portraits go, the one on the Britannia is one is the best of them. The Maple Leafs Queen looks particularly scrawny.
This Britannia has the King, but i got another 2023 on it's way with the Queen. The background pattern is a impossible to fake with harder alloys, another security feature of the Britannia.

It kinda makes sense the PM Psy Op of 2020/2021. They wanted more of the population to have some gold/silver for the upcoming turmoil. I have money/crypto/a house paid off in my late 40s. I had no PM at the start of COVID 19, never even registered to buy a gold coin?

Why did I wake up one day in the summer of 2021 and start thing about buying gold. Now we see very sticky inflation and house prices in hot markets rise against rising interest rates. The Canadian CPI came in yesterday at 3.3% compared to the previous month of 2.8%. A half point higher, how does the bank of Canada not raise interest rates. I was talking to a buddy at work and I told him we need to rip the band aid off and the BOC needs to raise the rate by 100 basis points.

He told me rates would be 9% by the end of the 2023, 18 months ago. At the time I called him a fucking idiot.

I'm going to go buy another 10K in maples in the morning.

Silver is still silver. The one cool piece you have is the bar at the bottom, a canceled design. They scratch the die to mark it as dead, but they put out some bars with the scratches (the grid in this case), and there are ebay buyers who think this is somehow cool and will pay a premium for them (search silver for "canceled"). The BRICS talking about trading in local currencies across borders is almost a guarantee that they will end up with a gold currency.

Trying to trade with all of their different fiat currencies constantly floating against each other as the various nations inflate at different rates will be impossible.

They could pick one and all use it, but they won't because they don't trust each other and don't want to get rugpulled again. There is no advantage to getting rid of the USD and then using the yuan instead.

They could create a new joint fiat currency, like the Euro, but then they would need to have a governing body that would control the money supply. They aren't going to agree to that kind of loss of control.

Then the govt creates more debt out of nothing, and private banks create even more, at levels that would seem incomprehensible to the average parasite banker 100 years ago.

And while GDP line go up, its all fueled by government debt and lies, combined with the labor of those working for the fake ious.

a) coins and PMs have that historical feel to them, especially the old coins - expressing some story via the wear and tear they've collected over time.
b) it's a nice feeling to have control over one's funds, the physical assets of PMs gives some freedom away from banks.
c) as you said makes sense as a means to diversify but no need to go crazy in any investments in my opinion. If you wish to eschew PMs for stocks or crypto by all means and vice versa; those all have arguments for and against your precious shekels.

In crisis situations, like Corona or Ukraine, gold acts anti-cyclic, that means it goes up while everything goes down.
It's a risk reducing hedge to reduce volatility of the portfolio. It's not supposed to make profit, just reduce volatility if something happens.
However, once we hit new all time highs i will sell, as profits from gold selling is tax free in Germany, if you held the gold for at least a year.

I have 5% precious metals, 4% is gold, 1% silver.

I don't anticipate a rush into gold due to the upcoming BRICS meeting. If anything, the BRICS will probably try to hold down gold prices for as long as they can so they can stock up. Also, China has shit-loads of dollars and would rather not have them evaporate. If they are smart, and some of them are, they will try to ease out of dollars and into gold without creating a stampede.

The interesting thing is how gold naturally solves their problems in the end.

Keep stacking for the long term. We are riding trends that are thousands of years old. Not for the faint of heart or those with a short attention span.

I agree, but how realistic is this? It's already apparent to plebs with their ears to the ground that the dollar is fugged. Every week it seems like there's news of another nation dropping the dollar for cross boarder settlements, and banks have been stacking hard relative to the recent past. You can get ASE's for $28 from Bullion Exchanges. The cheapest rounds I see are $25, so there's not that much of a difference.
