gaming is dead, rampant cheating and cheating culture has ruined multiplayer gaming and modern monetization tactics have killed off solid single player experiences
Factorio is the last good game that has ever been made, everything else has been a shallow project with no soul or passion behind it from any angle, just mindless depressed workers showing up to align their boring and uninspired work into a clusterfuck of a buggy mess called a video game. And executives frothing at the mouth over making sure the in game store is complete on day one or making sure that DLC pipeline is laid out if it's a single player game.

Video games are solely designed to extort you of money nowadays. When we were growing up, the people who made these games wanted to make something fun, something you can enjoy with friends, something that would entertain you and earn it's right to be purchased. Not expected to. They built their games with passion and everyone on the team was excited about what they were working on. Nowadays video games are developed by sad and depressed 9-5 Joe's who hate their life and hate their job, and it shows on so many fronts.

I haven't played a video game in like a year. They all suck. Can't even play today's best city builder without shelling out $100+ for the game + all DLC. Fuck it all whatever I'm more productive without them.

I'm not even going to give you the satisfaction of a long detailed reply because you wouldn't care or understand. I've been in the inner circle of many games and it's best players, and the amount of people who cheat nowadays is black pilling. It has completely turned me off to online games entirely. I have no drive or desire to play those kinda games anymore. If it isn't the cheating it's the mediocre matchmaking or the fact that every player wants to be a competitive twitch streamer.

They are going to continue raking in cash from normies who buy microtransactions, re-buy FIFA/COD every year, and need the latest Nintendo/mario whatever. They might not moon but they will be profitable for many years. Anyone saying gaming is dead is severely out of touch. Kids are playing more games than ever and games are more addictive than ever. There are so many games targeting adults as well. The cosplaying and video game cons are more popular than ever. There are fucking tv shows and movies based on games lol.
