55767801 No.55767801 [Reply] [Original]

I am a newfag who jumped into the 2021 top and got rekt pretty badly. But I've been slowly saving cash and DCAing a bit into BTC and LINK while navigating through a bunch of shit in life. Going to lay out my position and we can discuss what the best moves are for people like me, who haven't made it and might not have enough to make it this cycle but would like to at least tack a zero onto net worth.

I have amassed puny stacks of:
1500 LINK
0.3 BTC
trivial amounts of other random shit I don't expect to do anything/got rekt on last time

And I've saved up about 20-25 thousand dollars worth of cash to dip in for the next bull. This isn't a huge amount of money so I don't want to just dump it ALL into bitcorn. When are you guys going to start spreading money out into different alts and shitcoins etc.? I've been content to sit for a while but I'm starting to get an itch that says I should be moving into position. I don't want to fuck up and not make decent money this next time around

>> No.55767811

you are a smart guy picking only btc and link like that.
i would just buy more link, saving some money in case link dips further.
unfortunately i have nothing else to offer, as there really isn't a bull case for any crypto other than the occasional meme, or VCs picking one coin to pump. it's not easy to predict such things.

At this point, you need to make a significant amount of money outside of crypto if you're going to make it at all.
You're not going to be able to trade your 20k worth of crypto into something that will be worth enough to change your life.
Those days are over.

You need at least 6 figures going into this bull run to be able to make it to even $1 million by 2025.
As the crypto market matures, the returns will get smaller and smaller.
On top of that, we're heading into a global economic slowdown that will last until 2026 at least based on past cycles.
Interest rates continuing to increase along with inflation will make it hard to generate real wealth for people who don't already have it.

Personally, I'm holding Link and BTC like you are, and I'm continuing to buy Link because I feel as though it's going to snap out of the range it's in eventually.

My parents have given up on me and let me stay in my bedroom as long as I do chores. Here's my advice :
1. Don't trade. Sometimes you'll win, but when you lose, you lose shitload of your stack.

2. DCA BTC and be patient. We're nearing the start of bullrun, the start of "green candle" every weeks. BTC is on uptrend, it won't go below 200 wma or $27,300.

3. Use that $25k to get at least 1 BTC, store it in hardware wallet. Secure your seed phrase and don't touch it.

4. Wait. This is the hardest part. You will want to trade, etc. If you can't resist, only trade with small amount of money ($100), check if you can beat the house (you won't).

Stock are better because you are investing in something that is actually producing value in the world, even though their valuations can mostly based on public perceptions. Crypto is totally based on perceptions and it is perceived as a leveraged tech stock, so it behaves that way. It has nothing to do with being a store of value or as an alternative currency to compete with fiat.
