I am almost ashamed that I am effectively barely doing shit and getting paid. The only reason why I took this job is because it's less than 10 minutes away and allows me to learn skills in my free time so I get a better job in the future. I have a fixed schedule and am not too tired when I get back so it's perfect in that aspect. But man, my head fucking hurts sometimes from listening to his delusions for 8 hours a day

I have a similar job anon and a similar goal. I do full blown retard caretaking of adults though. Residential Habilitation. Super easy. Just give some fucked up dudes drugs, help them make food and remember to shit, shower and shave. Some of my guys are total bros and we have a good time. Others are the grumpiest souls I have ever met, but with a little practice I learned to avoid their triggers and kind of learned to like them. Anyways yes it does provide plenty of time to study or work on something of value outside work even though I often work 84+ hours technically while a lot of that is sleeping when they sleep. I know I should be learning to code or something. Also thinking of getting certified to do rental inspections for property managements. I like snooping around people’s living spaces and seeing how they live like animals. What skills are you working on anon?

I am learning a second language (I am from Europe and Germany is our biggest trading partner so it's kinda good skill to have), thinking also about SQL or some shit. I basically need some time to figure things out which is another reason why I took this job. I majored in forestry the job market was absolute shit after I graduated. Maybe I will search work in that sector in some other country, maybe even 3rd world to make it an adventure lol. But yeah, the guy is actually kinda cool too, we are friends but getting him to do anything is a chore so tiresome you wouldn't believe. Teaching him exponential function is will be nearly akin to Jesus's miracles

It doesn't pay good because it's funded through public sector. There is a major shortage of caretakers and personal assistants. Still I was the last of 8 interviewees and got the job by being likeable to he client.

In the US look up “Residential Habilitation” they pay dogshit because it’s Medicaid funded, but it’s easy as fuck and doesn’t feel like real job even when racking up 60+ hours. I’m basically using it as a place to sleep 6-7 nights per week while trying to learn some new skills during the daytime.
