no they are not, not even close. Instead of spitting something from your wishes, look how the "tech" works. Security is partial, indirectly supported by multi oracles (reducing impact of a single oracle) and staking (only a form of post-op insurance, for slashing).

The price of LINK increasing changes only the fact that stakers now have slightly more at stake, and this is literallu negligible in the day2day operation.

The oracle is NOT more secure or doesn't provide linearly better data. There is still same number of oracles per request, same partial security/insurance/incentives. The number of nodes0s4ksh doesn't grow

>> No.55702787

>>55702541
yes, if you mean that the price increase doesn't mean the transaction fee increase, because gas price =/= eth proce then yes.

But in Ethereum's case, the demand for platform usage (contract deployment, transactions, nft minting, swaps, etc) is directly related to the ETH price increase.

in Chainlink:
1) there is not particularly a growing demand for more oracle requests per day
2) LINK price increase would mainly mean that there is a growing demand to become a node operator, which is also not happening, because there are more than plenty.

What's the deal then? Just accept collectively that a 5 billion market cap is already a lot, might fluctuate, but that's basically it.

Chainlink whales are all nerds who got obscenely wealthy off crypto ten years ago and now accumulate 'tech' coins. Their activities have no bearing on financial reality or the macro markets. They can keep buying and link might not pump for another 8 years.

My problem with crypto is its dependent on getting other people on board so everyone who buys in are brand ambassadors. With this in mind its impossible to trust whoever promotes anything on /biz/. You need everyone else to hold the bag with you so you can sell whilst theyre still holding the bag.....

I cant see crypto lasting long term after realising this. But youll never get any bag holders saying this worry out loud because it threatens their bag holding status
