So what's your suggestion, that web3 orgs should be using CCIP because it's decentralized and not vulnerable to this kind of thing?

If CCIP were a functional product, I'd agree with you.
But it seems like CLL is going to just wait for web3 to self-destruct using inferior protocols before they finally release it.

Problem is, if they wait too long, there won't be any web3 left to move to CCIP.

Which, of course, assumes CCIP ever becomes an actual viable product.
At this point, it's entirely hypothetical.
