Any other wagie anons having trouble finding a job right now? I've put in dozens of applications on indeed and it's a ghost town. Some of them have 60-70 applications and these are bottom of the barrel retail hell gigs.

It's basically just saying if you have a grievance talk to management first and maybe they can rectify it. I don't see what the problem is, makes it sound like this franchisee at least tries to listen to employees and help them out. But obviously there are some things they won't be able to fix, like employees thinking they deserve $30/hr for flipping hamburgers.

Also you have it backwards. If an employee quits (which walking out on the job would certainly count as), they can't claim unemployment. You can only claim the benefit if you're fired for non-disciplinary reasons that are outside of your control.

No, it's if you're fired for disciplinary reasons but were not given an opportunity to correct the problem. That's the reason for write-ups. They write you up as a warning. Then if you make the same mistake again or don't change your behavior, they can fire you and you can't claim unemployment because you were "warned" and they documented that you were.

>> No.55508444

The bullshit thing about write-ups is though there are no rules and they don't have to back up the warning with any evidence and can literally just make things up. They can write you up for anything, like another employee said you did something or that x was your fault because they didn't want to take the blame.

It just means they will consider you an employee who is refusing to show up for work and I dunno, give you a bad reference. They really lost the upper hand in terms of leverage and so this is all just coping with it being a workers job market.
