I take off during the regular workweek from time to time. I'll take the subway in NYC around the financial district at the morning, lunch, and evening rush hours. What I've found is that insider trading isn't a huge advantage either way. Unless you're willing to go all in on a single company, the thing is there's events and situations that even the closest possible insider isn't going to be aware of. Either that or they have massively misinterpreted something (Think Blizzard's Diablo mobile game launch).
