I make $58k but the job is piss easy and I work from home/remotely. I’m not a techfag. The salary is actually pretty good for my industry. My life is still pretty shit in all other areas irrespective of that.

My life is easy and cozy, yeah. The only problem is that I have no serious plans for a future, aside from getting lucky in crypto which I can't count on. That and seeing most of my peers way ahead of me. But yeah I have basically no stress.

You never went to college or anything? Study online and get some certifications in IT or else something else that has opportunities in your area. I'm in a similar situation to you, and we might as well use our time to work toward being more skilled.

Why do Americans earn that much?

Here in Europe it's about €30k a year

but the dollar isn't worth half of that

So is there something i'm missing? Is this before paying 50% taxes or something?

How does American yearly salary work?

Anything around or above $100k a year sounds like alot, that's almost $10k a month

So you pay 50% taxes and only keep half or something or whats the problem exactly?

You got no health insurance which also costs a few grand every month? I dont get it

Guten Tag, fellow Europoorean. The answer is simply that the US has a far bigger wealth divide than Western European countries:
In the US, low level wage cucks earn magnitudes less money than college educated academics. Some Walmart cashier in a moderately big city might earn $40k and barely scrape by, while some CS major earns $250k and lives like a king. Meanwhile in Europe, the cashier still earns some €30k and gets by quite well, while the CS major earns only €80k and pays a fuckload of taxes, putting him barely above above the cashier standard of living wise.

TL:DR: Being a poorfag pleb in Western Europe is more comfy than being a pleb in the US because of all the state subsidies, cheap insurance and generous working conditions. However, being rich is FAR better in the US as you pay much fewer taxes, and earn more than double in certain professions as you would in the Western EU. If you live in the Eastern EU, move away immediately, there are no (financial) benefits.

I'm from croatia. For reference my mother is a uni prof and earns ~2k per month, that is considered above average of course. Currently i'm studying physics, i would like to work a few years somewhere in europe, but would probably return back to croatia, i'm a sealoving patriot after all. I like the social system we have here, my uni is free and i live in a dorm and pay ~100€ per month for the room and food. This year we got into schengen, the prices went up, but this summer is going to be crazy, as all fat germans driving tanks don't need to prepare passports, convert money... just drive 2h more. This summer i'll be going to silicon valley, i'll try to compare it with croatia. TL;DR where should i live for most profit?
