I have a mental illness that causes me to be overly-sensitive to small/insignificant animals suffering or dying. I killed a snail by mistake the other day and I can't stop thinking about its sad little horns dangling as the poor animal got weaker and weaker. On the other hand I think I could watch a rapist or a pedophile being killed in the worst possible ways and I won't feel a thing. How can I profit from this?

I’m like you, anon. Now anyway. When I was young I was terrible. I killed things for fun. Now it haunts me. I vividly remember some of the poor creatures I dispatched. It makes me sick to my stomach and once the memory starts playing in my head, I can’t turn it off. Now all I can do is try and atone for the suffering I caused. I have no issue with killing to eat, but doing it just for the sake of it is sick. I’ve raised my kids to respect life though, down to the little bugs in the garden.
