I’m still using the iPhone 8 Plus 256 GB I bought like what, 6 years ago? It still gets software support to this day. Eventually I will have to buy a new one but if these shits last me 6 years + I don’t even mind spending some money on it. It’s literally nothing if you break it down to monthly costs.

Sort of. There's a files app you can save and load files to. You can sync up cloud storage in the files app too, so you can access everything on Google drive or onedrive or whatever. Not exactly full file system access but there is a way to store and organize files in folders now.
