If you want to get big you ought to hit the gym or get real home equipment.
pushups, pullups and dips are good for you and will change your physique for the better, but again you won't get huge, which I don't care much for either.
That being said, you don't need overpriced training equipment to do basic calisthenics

It’s pretty good but don’t expect a whole lot of muscle gains unless you start doing some of those exercises weighted.

But if you were completely sedentary and went from doing nothing to a 45min routine with these 4 exercises plus some cardio you’d looking good in no time. Honestly most gains don’t come from working out they come from diet. Especially facial gains - if you want to look better cut weight. If you want to look better and not appear like a skinny loser then cut weight + exercise.

This is the most misguided info normies can get. I fell for this too "muh abs are built in the kitchen bro never train it just do squats and shit" then you end up with a physique like picrel.
TRAIN YOUR ABS NIGGA. It's a muscle like anything else, and it responds best to high volume work. That's the only way you can get a visible sixpack at even higher bodyfat percentages. Stop falling for this bullshit.

You really just need a pull up bar. You can do pull ups and leg raises there. Push ups on it is a meme. A lot of people don't do dips.

In short, just get a pull up bar.

short answer, yea it's better than nothing, but you need to increase resistance so get a belt and a bunch of weights to hang from it as you become stronger

>> No.54963864

>>54963801
I am going a bit off topic, but I find it hard to fit in dips anywhere. They are an accessory like box jumps or something that I just drop most of the time, since on bench/row days I am too tired and an on squat/DL days it seems like it will mess with the recovery for bench / pull ups. Plus, I guess I don't know how to do them right. I like doing them full ROM, but people seem to just use them for triceps, which I do know how to do, but seems limited.

>> No.54963867

honestly get some gymnastic rings instead
cheaper, better value, can still do all the movements in that image but better.

>> No.54963933

>>54963864
Doing dips on parallel bars with full ROM (chest below bars) are a killer upper body compound exercise that hits your triceps, pecs, delts, and back. Bodyweight dips are a better exercise than push-ups and weighted dips could replace bench imo.*

I used to be a calisthenics fag, until I realized it's very difficult to linearly scale load, and yes, I know all the tricks* and used to be gymnast (no homo). Also, you will see manlets progress on planche / levers, etc, but for tall fags it's damn near impossible.

* Read: Building a Gymnastics Body, any of Ross Enamait's books, beastskills.com, and Convict Conditioning for some dramatic bullshit.

This is the one I have. If you grab those two slightly raised bars that run parallel with the base, you can do pushups in a way where you squeeze your shoulder blades then bring your chest down and forward at an angle. You touch your chest to the floor and then push back at the same angle. It activates more chest muscles and mimics the movement and weight of an incline bench press.

This guy shows how to do it really well
