ETH is $1980 on coinbase and $1985 on binance right now. How do I profit from this?

That's a man for sure you can tell by the veins in the hand and the distance of the shoulders in comparison to his hips. Definitely a MAN with a PENIS

You don't.
Or you can be like that anon who wrote a bot and deployed on Coinbase, not accounting for the fees. And then subsequently lost tens of thousands of dollars.

I think you need $10,000,000 on Coinbase for 0 fees. So deposit $10m, buy ETH, trade for XLM, send to Binance, trade for ETH and sell.
Let us know how it goes.

What difference does it make? Some people are attracted to men, some to women. It comes down to the individual.

Easy, you just need to buy several millions of eth on coinbase then shift it to binance and sell it there while losing all of your profit in gas fees

I will answer seriously. It's called cross-exchange arbitrage.

You have a balance on both exchanges. The moment your software detects a profitable trade, it sells on binance and buys on coinbase. Keep in mind that for this trade, you would have 8k sitting there to make $5.

Why this doesn't work - you need to keep the accounts "balanced" for subsequent trades. There are both transfer fees and transfer limits between exchange. Furthermore, this is very much a "HFT" (high-frequency trader) strategy, so have fun reporting those transactions (yes, yes, I know). Hope this helps.

P.S. There are probably better pairs to do that with. You can also google "cross-exchange triangular arbitrage", but that's a bit more advanced.

>> No.54873500

One more thing - this used to be profitable in the very early days of crypto when you sat on all the exchanges that existed at the time and did triangular arbitrage. The price differences could be dramatic.

Even if it does work now, you won't outcompete the big players. Just for reference, HFT firms built buildings next to the NYSE exchange to have lower latency. That's the level of competition your looking at if there is still any money in this.
