Technically, we're newfags. There was a chart endorsed by moot at some point that made it so that anyone who cane in after 2007 was a newfag, 2005-6 are oldfags and 2004 are originalfags. I remember this chart because that was the first time moot replied to me.

I remember it all very well, though sometimes I get my years mixed up. 2008/9 was the year Minecraft was insano popular and there were tons of 4chan servers people played on and people would just post IP addresses to /b/. It was also the time that /b/ became internet famous for orchestrating a bunch of raids. Also I remember orbital strike cannon was a thing if any oldfags remember the tumblr wars. It was also the years where a bunch of smart people on /g/ decided to fuck with the westboro baptist church's website, inadvertently creating the "Anonymous" persona. There were also almost daily bitcoin threads on /b/ in 2010 (I think). There was an anon I remember who created a thread when btc hit $1 asking people, begging them to buy a bag of btc and I just called him a faggot (which he was). The rules of the internet were written in 2008. Rule 47 was born. Rule 2 was written, then subsequently forgotten. Many other rules were written and lost to the ether. Occupy wall street happened and there wasn't a clear left vs. right divide on 4chan back then so there were threads about that. Boxxy was crowned queen of /b/.

A lot happened in those years.

I found 4chan during the slowdown of ytmnd and Animutation. Biggest difference I can remember is that the OP's genuinely tried to respond to each poster in the thread like a traditional forum. Not that (you)'s are always necessary, but there was definitely more ownership of thread than "what does 4chan think of X" and bailing.

I have been here since day 1 in 2013. I actually cane from /g/ and this will always be a crypto board because they made this due to crypto discussion taking over /g/. I don't think so at all. But I suppose that is just me. I don't really care too much about money beyond a certain level. If I had bought 50 btc back in the day, I don't think my life would be very different. I have more money now than I really need and having even more wouldn't make too much difference.

You mental health and family are more important than money anon. I don't blame myself for not buying BTC back then. Based on the information I had back then, it was a stupid concept and had no future. If I was to go back in time without my current memories, I probably wouldn't buy it again.
