If you happen to believe the US will be fine in 20 years loading up on bonds might be wise and then just use the interest to grab more bonds. Have an uncle who did this and just NEETs.
That said there really isn't one sure-fire way to beat inflation at this point unless you own a business or you find a niche you can fill with stocks.
For example I got good at spamming credit spreads on SPX and other items like it since it's rather predictable but that is more active than most people are willing to tolerate.

Honestly, I have very mixed feelings about gold, the only way I see it being valuable is when shit hits the fan but at that point having guns/ammo might be more important.
That in mind if bonds isn't your cup of tea then my second recommendation is just going ham on physical goods but via derivatives. So for example I like steel and steel companies will never go away, thus steel futures and companies I keep in my back pocket accordingly.
Another thing would be agriculture, people need food and large-scale failure (in the US) won't be allowed so that's probably more safe than not.
Also to add trading coffee futures can be fun since it's price action is autistic.

If you use options you can buy a call then when you want to sell, instead of selling the call you bought, create a spread by selling the next strike to lock in your gains. Even if the spread goes against you the loss will be tiny fraction of however much you made on the original call going your way. Then the next day close the spread. That way you can day trade without ever getting PDT flagged
