Idk, that was never really my case
My assumption from the start was that inflation was one-off and that the Fed overreacted with QT (which started a global QT cycle, afaik for currency defence). Kinda seems like they 'fixed' inflation by risking a recession. Yes prices go down in a recession but the cure is worse than the disease. I still wonder if they should have just done nothing, I think they'll have to do Yield Curve Control at some point anyhow to keep the debt manageable (since USgov will never ever sober up the deficit)

However doing any less hiking or keeping QE any longer would've sparked runaway inflation you really can't hide.

Yield Curve Control doesn't really equal inflationary though, in the sense of CPI increase. If anything you can get runaway inflation exactly with high yields, because you have to print more and more money to monetize the interest on old debt (which is inflationary in the Austrian sense). Argentina has sky-high 78% interest rates with runaway inflation, Japan had YCC, 250% debt to GDP, and did not. I personally suspect linking inflation to rates in a crude fashion is a rather barbaric way to think about inflation.

Yeah, but think about it a little more. All the money comes into service as debt and has to be repaid at some point. Of all the debtors in the economy, only the government really can't default. If the government ran consistent surpluses, one or more other sectors (private, household, foreign) must necessarily be indebted. That's the devils advocate position for government debt I guess, that it's the safest place for a deficit to be.
Of course, more realistically, running an 8% deficit is akin to a hidden 6-8% tax that people don't really feel.

yeah i won't lie I've been swinging regional banks since march and was surprised to see FRC do so poorly after WAL held up. I got burned pretty bad but still came out positive since I started following it. It looks like I'll make it all back with PACW because they are up big AH and I also got the earnings right with WAL so FRC tanking was kind of a surprise. I think NYCB reports on Friday so another regional to watch. If they also beat similar to PACW and WAL then it makes sense to think there isn't much contagion.

Oh my bad, 10 years is for anything you owe them. It's 3, then 6 years you need to worry about.

>How far back can the IRS investigate you?

>How far back can the IRS go to audit my return? Generally, the IRS can include returns filed within the last three years in an audit. If we identify a substantial error, we may add additional years. We usually don't go back more than the last six years.

Also no, Biden's army didn't get cut. The Republicans want to do that as one of their dozens of debt ceiling demands but it's not set in stone, as you can guess.

Two Big Earnings Expected Moves after the close:
$MSFT: +- 11.63
$GOOGL: +- 5.67

This is taking place as the $SPY is currently trading around its lower weekly EM at 405.94.

We have not tagged the weekly EM for 3 weeks in a row. This is going to be very important how the market perceives the earnings of these megas. If its bad, the market may crack the lower weekly EM and break a critical level on ES 4100. That would open the door to 3850 - 3900.

If the market likes what they see, today's price action may completely be reversed.

This is far to binary for me to put risk out there. I am sitting out and will wait to see how its digested.

Well from this perspective, "AI" is just doing what coders have been reluctant to do since the dawn of code: A script that translates the english language into code. It's still limited and chatGPT and the like is just like the chess engine "AI". It has a niche problem set that it is good at. There are perhaps more niche problem sets that "AI" can be applied to, but that isn't infinite. The coding stuff is still even useful to someone who is good at code just by shear speed. All of this is to say, the tech has been here for like 40 years it just has been dormant. There isn't anything actually all that new besides the amount of money and processing power thrown at it.

For me it comes and goes in cycles, and frankly when I have my dark days I just come to 4chan and angrily shitpost all the hate out so I can go on being a happy person in my actual life. I sincerely think most people operate the same way when they come here, about half just post regularly and contribute to whatever thread they're posting in like a normal person whether that be videogame or cooking or automotive or financial related topics and another quarter of the posters just angrily hatepost about all manner of off-topic bullshit generally in a very racist and sexist manner to get it out of their system. Of the remaining quarter, there you will find the literal glowies and actual sociopaths/psychopaths that intend to do real harm to the world in varying degrees ranging from yet another "woman bad" thread or post to demoralization posting escalating to all manner of misdemeanors and felonies or fifth column activities if not actual psyops by foreign governments trying to incite people to do violent shit. But just because some people pop in, say some gamer words and racial slurs, and tell some annoying fuck to do a flip onto concrete from time to time doesn't mean they're inherently shit people. In fact I'd say they're probably good people because they're venting their hate and anger in an appropriate place and manner. Would you rather have someone snap and start screaming racial obscenities and inciting violence if not a riot in public, or would you rather they dump all of that refuse of the soul in the great big dump at the end and beginning of the internet?

There are actual terrible motherfuckers that post here regularly that should probably be in jail or a psychiatric institution away from the general population. But they're the minority, and most people are just regular people that want a forum where they can be an anonymous asshole or just a forum where they can talk about whatever interests them.

if you buy 410s and sell 412s you'll be able to buy more 410s
they closed at
410: .57
412: .21
lets assume they open at .70 and .35 tomorrow
you could buy 14 calls with $1000
you could buy 28 410c buy/412c sell spreads
when spy closes at 412 tomorrow your 14 calls will be worth 2800, but the spreads will be worth 5600

>trump injects a quadrillion dollars
>biden inherits fallout
>omg le biden is bad

and this is assuming the president has any say on economic activities. both hands were forced imo, but trump should have ensured less money went to un-needed industries.

The west is successful *BECAUSE* of unrestricted free speech. The more you glowniggers try to clamp down on it, the more you kill the golden goose. Being able to freely criticize our government when it acts like a retarded nigger is what allows us to correct our mistakes as a society. When you shut down free speech that just allows corrupt politicians to double down on bad policies. This collapse is your own doing.

Took a small gamble with FRC. Hey I can risk it. Frankly if I lose it, oh well, that's just another tax break I get. Also I'll make back my investment money. Winter is over. Natural gas bill will be falling like a rock. So yeah. Fuck it. A little risk won't hurt me.
