the company can bounce back from chapter 11 protection. it's not over until it files for chapter 7 bankruptcy. they're trying to sell buybuy baby which is what we wanted all along, they're going to pivot away from store closings upon a successful sale, and they believe that this will best maximize value. this is better than continuing to dilute by selling shares on the open market at the artificially low price of 20-30 cents. as sue gove indicated in the etoro interview, the current share price doesn't reflect the true value of the company.

people who are smarter and better educated than any of us are running the company. to our knowledge, it shouldn't have been necessary to file chapter 11 if they were to go ahead with their plans to stay afloat using dilution. but selling buybuy baby is what most of us were really hoping for since august. now they are stopping the dilution and selling buybuy baby so this could be bullish as fuck depending on how much they get from the auction.

there's a few really good reasons for this behavior but my guess would be: they were trying to lower their debt obligation to make an emergency loan and/or an 11th hour deal more appealing. Along with this the added benefit of buying bonds back when on the verge of BK is that if you do go into bankruptcy then every bond you bought back is one less party you're responsible to pay back. If you had bothered to try to learn anything during this meme saga or if you had had the ability to read information and reflect critically on it you may have seen the reason for it before it cost you everything you put in.
