What kind of fantasy land are you living in? Fox does not make NEARLY that much money. Fox is potentially going broke. Net income available to common shareholders last year was 1.5 billion in total. This one lawsuit wiped out almost half of it. The Fox market cap was 17 billion. The settlement approaches 5% of their market cap. There's another, bigger lawsuit in NY state court.

Something /smg/ should look out for are shareholder suits. Shareholders will likely sue FOX execs and the board.

But FOX will surely be happier with this settlement than the initial lawsuit's cited damages. Dominion initially claimed they had been harmed far more than $1.6 billion, especially in opportunity cost. And a trial will harm Fox far more than $1.6 billion, so they were likely happy to pay the 700M.

Most importantly, FOX will be quite happy with the fact that Dominion won but Fox is not required to make pubic acknowledgment of how Fox News conspired to defraud their viewers. That would have absolutely fucked Fox.
