Is /biz/ slurping the tupperware dip? Can quality plastic containers make a comeback or is it unironically over?

They make plastic food containers for fucking cheap in China and sell them on e-commerce sites, no idea why anyone would pay for Tupperware.

And if you're keeping your leftovers and reheating them in a plastic container, you're NGMI.

My mom still has Tupperware from the early 80’s. It is very high quality plastic

They can, they just struggle with being focused for more than hour on something.
Some are even proud that they can't cook and brag about.

It seems like someone would buy them out if they fail on their own. Tupperware is a very recognizable brand with a good reputation.

Been recently very conscious on chemicals in my food and products I use
I know these are BPA free but there’s still chemicals that linger with age and wear that eventually fill your body with issues like infertility, low testosterone production, anxiety etc. All plastics contain these chemicals, this is why stainless steel and glass products are superior

Read about ampad and bain capital before slurping things like this. This is private equity schooling 101, mitt romney style.

What if they just bite the bullet and switch to glass containers? All of my containers are nearly exclusively glass, with a couple stainless steel containers. After it became common knowledge that the plastic basically leaches into your food, plastic food containers were doomed.
