You could diversify a bit with some sectorial ETF if you have a strong belief a few particular sectors will outperform another. But just keep in mind that like 95% of accountants, hedge funds and the like underperform the market (let's call it the S&P500) by having such beliefs.
So, you can do it. Just keep in mind you'll likely do worse than just having a plain SP500 ETF (or a World ETF if you really want the safest route, though S&P500 dictates the world anyway).
Heck, I myself have too much of a Nasdaq bias, so it's not like I'm even completely immune to bias. We all have bias. We all have beliefs. Just make sure you have like 80% of your money in SPY/a World ETF. And play with the remaining 20% for the fun and to satisfy your bias.

Some gamblers started betting on a mean reversion back in January after NG futures crashed from $8 last fall to $3-4 as winter was warm and shortages were avoided.
BOIL was trading around $12 when a few anons started seriously pumping the idea. Mostly this was ignored for a while as just another retarded leveraged ETF play.

The real shilling began in force in February, when the cropped RH screenshot dude (self-titled KOLD/BOIL anon) started hyping BOIL. It slid below $6 and that's when the real memes began. You never learn, you never listen, etc. It bounced back to $7+ on one final pump in early March as a final wave of cold weather and some snowstorms hit. Some profits were taken, but most of the suckers in this general assumed that was just the beginning of some mega-pump.
It was around this point in time that I, along with a few others in this general with salvageable levels of intelligence, started point out some inconvenient facts about BOIL's ETF structure. The fact that they hold futures contracts which sit in massive contango, the roll costs experienced when swapping these forward, the seasonality of natural gas, the beta slippage due to vol decay in a choppy spring market, and the general supply/demand macro due to gassier shale wells.

Naturally, the BOIL shills called us all retards, ignored the warnings and doubled down. Fast forward one month and they're sitting on massive losses. Where will it go from here? Who knows.

VOO is better on a cost basis and the lower fees SPY and VOO are the same ETF.

If you are long then you should look into
VTI - US Total Market
VT - Total World
VXUS - Total International No US stocks
VWO - Emerging Market aka China and Taiwan
Now research these but VT or VTI + VXUS is generally considered fine but you can mix in different amounts of exposure if you want.
Other things to be aware of is VT contain VTI and VTI contains VOO/SPY. Now someone might say QQQ but VOO contains QQQ so don't worry about it unless you have a strong to increase exposure to the NASDAQ.

After that you can take 5-10% of your investing power and fuck with leveraged ETFs or whatever.

That's a breddy gud encapsulation. I myself fell into it sometime in the $6 range of that, but wasn't expecting any substantial pump anytime soon. I had looked at the futures contracts going into 2024 and seen a Jan peak of $4.50, and a pretty decent ramp up to it starting in June, so figured it was a safe enough bet that it would eat least gradually rise to a decent enough finale between Oct and Jan.

This is exactly what I did not do. Someone warned us about CONTANGO, and I looked it up. I was watching the futures contracts every day, and started seeing them adjust downward. I did a little maneuvering into averaging down into dips and selling any small rallies and minimized what had been a nearly $400 unrealized loss down to a little over $200, then started doing KOLD scalps and got it down to about a $125 realized loss. I am DEEPLY GRATEFUL to all who provided warnings and educational pointers/insights. I do my best to pay it forward and help prevent Anons from GETTING FUCKIN' BURNT.
