>25% tip
Sign of a recession. Might as well make it 30%, or 50%, and make a site just about naming and shaming people who tip only 40%. Then no one will dine out and there won't be any tips at all. It's the same mechanism that lead advertisers to put 10 minutes of ads into the programming for every 15 minutes of showtime, and now nobody watches TV anymore.

>gets paid the equivolent of $35 an hour by 1 table just to bring out like 3 plates of food and refill drinks twice

Tipping is so fucking gay and waiters/waitresses can suck my hairy asshole. If my bill is $1000 that server only worked marginally harder than on a $100 bill.

She's complaining about $70? A lot of foreigners will do $0. Also cute that their "suggested tip" starts at 20% now, fuck them. 20% is for exceptional service, 10% for merely adequate.

Won't help its a culture things.

In my province of Canada the minimum wage is like 15$ but you are still expected to tip 15-20%.

I don't complain because my wife is a waitress and brings home huge wads of cash every night. She makes as much as I do as a Journeyman Electrician and in summer she makes double. Sometimes as much as 600$ for a whole day or 400$ for a dinner service.

Waitressing is probably the highest paid unskilled job by far. It pays more than most skilled jobs. They make more than skilled trades, more than truckers, more than legal aides, more than dental techs or vet techs, more than teachers, more than accountants, more than bank tellers. Nurses probably make more with all the crazy over time they get but nursing sucks ass and you have to go to school for like 3 years for it. And trades who live in the boonies doing resource work like loggers who live in camps or guys who live in the sands probably make more also.

I don't know maybe...

I don't know what an escort goes for, like 300$-500$?

So you'd have to screw at least 2 guys a day to make as much as a waitress at a good restaurant. Each one pays for an hour but it's probably like another hour of prep to get ready and cleaned up afterwards, and you have to make your own advertisements and deal with customers over the phone which takes time and half of them probably don't show up despite that time investment. And then you run the risk of getting mugged or beat up.

Waitresses make the same amount of money much easier and in almost as short a time period I'd wager.

0% tip always. If you can't tip beforehand, then the level of service you received was always going to be the same outcome anyway, meaning the tip associates with no increase or decrease in your level of service received. Anyone that doesn't realize this is parting with their money for no fucking reason.

>> No.54377508

What do u poors want instead? Food/drink prices raised 18% and the servers make a 18% commission on all food sales? Then they just become shitty car salesman up selling everyone to whatever costs more, not what is enjoyable/delicious

If the servers made no tips and were paid 14$/hr the service would become Walmart tier and you would be better off eating goyslop at mcwendy king jr

The tip is “optional” so the menu prices can be lower for marketing purposes. you can also screw over awful waiters and the good waiters will desperately lick your asshole all service to try and earn 20%+. There is no better option.

Also most restaurants these days require the server to give away 5% of their sales to support staff like bussers bartenders and food runners, so if you leave 0$ they actually are net negative $

I order one plate and can go get it myself. 80% of the time it comes out cold and I never get refills on my drinks. The waitress is always in some back corner talking to a friend or texting. We need to normalize not tipping for bad service and tipping for good service. Not tipping for bad service and tipping more for good service. What we have now is a system that doesn't do what it should: encourage good service. There are tons of shit servers out there expecting their tip gibs.

It’s the working nights and weekends thing. If you removed the tipping pay structure, nobody would do the job that you would want coming within 50 feet of you. Tipping is what keeps non-retards in the business and justifies them working the long and bad hours dealing with n-words and rude slobs. You’d have only 16 year-old dummies and sheboons waiting on you if tipping stopped.

“Should” is a really retarded and pointless concept. The service industry will pay as much as the labor market demands, or they will lose workers and lose business. It would be nice if people stopped tipping, to force the restaurant owners to feel the pain of underpaying their workers, but I’m not in charge of that nor would I pretend that I could make some sort of nationwide impact just by complaining on social media like an idiot.

If a waiter / waitress pisses me off even once or doesn't bring me water after I asked I instantly decide not to tip. I've also had one waitress keep the change after I paid on cash when I didn't tell her she could have it, i guess she assumed it was her tip, so I didn't tip that time either. I really don't care anymore these fucking wagies need to learn their place and just do the three things I need them to do without wasting my time.

Anyways you should tip if you go out with friends and get good service. I think 20% is fair if everything is great. Sadly tips don't get distributed to the actual cooks for some reason but whatever. Just don't waste money on eating out bros it's unhealthy anyways and barely saves and time over cooking your own food.

>> No.54378834

I like to tell the wagies they did a good job and deserve a big tip. And then leave no tip.

It's an important lesson to impart. Reciprocity is not guaranteed to pay off. I expect nothing in return for sharing this wisdom as they should expect nothing in return for carrying a few cups and plates from kitchen to table.
