Silver price is manipulated using futures trading. They (COMEX, aka JMP, aka the fed) sell over 300 contract for each ounce of silver. 100 for gold. For the stable part of my portfolio (eg cash/metals), rather than buying a GIC, I bought an equal dollar value of JEPQ and SJB. JEPQ has a juicy 11.5% dividend, but moves with the market prices. SJB tends to inverse it (and pays a 0.25% divvy). Checking a period of 180 days, the pretty much moved completely opposite of each other. So my strategy here is to hold both in lieu of a GIC/treasury and collect approx 5.5% dividend in a "safe" way (less fees). Thoughts?
