>take up massive short position on company
>deepfake video of said company's CEO saying how much they hate black people

I think you'd have to be a bit smarter about it.
1.) Find a company that's already highly shorted (this means rich people with media access will push it for you)
2.) Make a statement that puts them in a bind no matter how they respond: For example, "Islam is right about women". If they rant, using Muslim texts, about why women shouldn't vote, drive, or have rights and quote famous Muslim scholars, then it will be more difficult for them to avoid fall-out from one side or the other. Force them to stick to their (fake) principles and make them piss off another group in so doing.

I remember when someone leaked Walmart using litecoin to journalists who believed them, and then dumped on everyone

People actually did something similar to this when Elon introduced Twitter Blue. They’d buy the blue check mark and then make a fake account of a well-known business. A guy made one for a pharmaceutical company and then put out a tweet saying they were going to make insulin free. It made the company lose billions in value that day

What he said makes perfect sense. I guess you're just not ready yet.

People who short sell stocks already pay news companies for bullshit articles like what OP is talking about. So if you feed them strong ammunition like what OP is talking about, they can take that and run with it. And since they won't be creating fake info, they'd just be "reporting" on it, they'd be clear of liability enough to do it (+bribe money). So in order to amplify the effect something like this would have, targeting it at companies that are already heavily shorted (in minecraft) would probably be most effective.

For point number two, if you put the company in a no-win scenario, it will take them longer to formulate a good PR response, and this delay in their response will make them look guilty and help tank the stock more, possibly.

That’s smart about putting them in a binding situation between two sides no matter what they say
