They said 100BPS increase on their default swap CDs and they’re out. It’s a clause in this sham of a deal

no, that information was attached to the earlier reports about a $1b deal that CS rejected. Since then a new deal has been announced and as far as I can tell nothing has been said about this CDS clause. No way to know if it carried through to the completed deal, so why bullshit?

The fact that they haven’t said it’s now off the table means it likely is still part of the deal. Everything else was reported as being changed

This has nothing to do with banks with shitty balance sheets. This is another systemic breakdown in the global monetary system like 2008, but this time there's no kicking the can down the road.

Idk what a CDS is, but will this cause depositors to withdraw? Is UBS capitalized enough to cover the change in CDS?

UBS just bought Credit Suisse for like 3 billion, which is less than half what it was at close.
They were also given 100 billion in liquidity from the central bank as part of the deal.
The Swiss are currently changing the law so they can push it through without needing to have a shareholder vote.

>Idk what a CDS is
A Credit Default Swap (CDS) is a financial contract that allows a buyer to protect against the risk of default on a particular debt instrument, such as a bond or loan. In a CDS, the buyer pays a periodic premium to the seller, who agrees to pay a predetermined amount in the event that the underlying debt instrument defaults. Essentially, the buyer is hedging their risk against the possibility of default by transferring that risk to the seller.
The seller of a CDS is often a financial institution, such as a bank or insurance company, that is willing to assume the risk of default in exchange for the premiums paid by the buyer. The amount of the premium is typically based on the perceived risk of default, with higher-risk debt instruments commanding higher premiums.
CDS contracts are typically standardized and traded on financial markets, allowing investors to buy and sell them like other financial instruments. However, CDS contracts are also a type of derivative, meaning their value is derived from an underlying asset or security, and they can be highly complex and difficult to understand.
CDS contracts played a significant role in the 2008 financial crisis, as many banks and financial institutions had taken on large amounts of risk through CDS contracts on mortgage-backed securities, which ultimately led to widespread defaults and the collapse of several large financial institutions. Since then, there have been efforts to regulate and standardize CDS contracts to prevent a similar crisis from occurring in the future.

TLDR; it's a kiked out banking scam.

step 1 design an AI
step 2 the AI steals all jobs
step 3 with its newfound wealth, the AI buys all the debt to help us out. the AI doesn’t actually need money so it doesn’t matter if the debt defaults.

tl;dr a CDS is the equivalent of a put option on a bond.

Nah man, try again. I mean it is obviously.
