The point is not to save banks doomed to insolvency due to shit investments, but to prevent a bank from getting zeroed out in a freak incident when otherwise they would recover and be fine. I'm not saying it will, only that it is the only sector with that potential, and will necessarily suck up more capital due to that fact.
China was the one with the potential for broad sector growth, and it is more and more haram month by month. Additionally, as they expand their web of influence globally (see Saudi/Iran deal, Africa) the list of foreign markets we will be allowed to invest in by our friends at the State Department will shrink.
So, tech will continue to grow.
What alternative does anyone seriously have to the American tech capital glutton thesis?

Tech is a meme that will die. Some will continue on, like Apple and Microsoft, most of it though is a bubble that is the equivalent of shitcoin pump and dumps that will go insolvent. Money will flow back into industrial, defensive and value stocks as the luxury meme bubble economy of the past 10 years of cheap liquidity deflates and reverts back to the mean of companies that actually produce tangible products and services of value. Think of how an Oil and Gas company like OXY pumped last year while meme stocks dropped like a rock. That will be the normal once we come out on the other end of this volatile shitshow.

gold is practically a derivative asset on its own, and you want to buy derivatives on it? you're going to be fucked by market variables that you don't fully understand if you do this
IV is also going to be astronomical right now, so you're going to be overpaying for your calls if markets don't get more frothy than they already are right now.

if you still want leveraged exposure to gold, you have 3 better options:
- levered ETFs like UGL
- buying unlevered ETFs like SGOL on margin
- buy gold miners, which have a lot more price action than gold itself when it moves

Buying family out of a house now that we all inherited because those boomers aren't getting it onto the open market. Its been left vacant now for two years so its got a lot of backed maintenance that I am going to have to do. Going to get its core electrical plumbing etc inspected and maintenance work done on it with some of the cash after the re-finance to buy it. Going to hire a maid service to dust the house down and give it a good clean and the air ducts rinsed out since my aunt had a lot of cats and the house still smells of it.

If the housing market crashes I will just refinance the house back to zero rates, and then take my money and rebuild my parents house who also passed. Works for me.

Feds freak out, set aside slush fund to guarantee depositors get their money back. Fund slush pool with proceeds of selling off assets from seized failed banks. Not a bailout in the strict sense, as they won't have part ownership in the banks and they will close as a result, fed doesn't have to print nearly as much as a full bailout. Only systemically important banks and a few of the smaller ones that didn't fuck around hard enough to have to find out left standing. Still economic turmoil from lenders going under, crazy shit still happens in market, average Joe doesn't get fucked to death and no massive increases in national debt.

Definitely not a nothingburger but not a Ron Paul level happening either. Bearish short term due to increased volatility, bullish long term. Expecting spy to briefly dip to 2900ish before resuming upwards climb. Probably will be a war soon at the behest of having fucked tons of international and criminal entities that owned or controlled now closed banks.

Historically on crashes, the ratio hit 100-120, but it was the velocity that mattered. Once it went parabolic, it gradually went back down. I'm looking at the weekly chart. I'm not entirely sure how to properly size risk on pairs trading (eg correlation, ATR, delta, beta), but I figure that after several months, it'll return to the mean. I won't go balls deep, I'll scale into it gradually and keep some cash for margin, perhaps a position size of around $2000 on each leg, with $400-800 actually at risk; I'll scale up or down as appropriate

More to the point, "profit from gold during stagflation" wasn't some straight line up. If we charitably start in 1974 rather than Jan 1st 1975, we're still up, then down, then crabbing, have a parabolic blow off that ends right in 1980. But then you crab and dump the last 2 years of stagflation!

"What's best for a stagflation environment?" varies year to year based on what part of the stagflation you're in.

In general, stocks are risky investments. You could sell your stocks and stay in cash while you learn about investing. But be careful about this, because selling your stocks could have a big tax impact.

If you decide to sell and stay in cash-like investments, note that you don't have to buy Treasury bills yourself. It would be easier to put the money in a savings account or buy shares of a money market mutual fund.
