Enterprise tech sales mid-level here. I make 135 base, 65 comp (200k OTE). It's pretty cozy, I just act as tech support for old boomers until a deal eventually falls into our lap.

Topkek my pipeline is dry as fuck right now and they nuked lead flow to our team. Mid market retard here on 75/75 150k ote.

Been here just over a year but think I'm gonna bounce or get fired by end of Q2, any decent recs for categories to look at in tech?

Sales bros I’ve been in the game for 2 years in lower paying sales job, I work in fitness as a sales manager, I don’t mind 50+ hour weeks but I feel like I could be making so much more. I’m a very good salesman, but don’t have a bachelors, I firmly also believe in the fake in till you make it method, any recommendations for finding a new sales position that pays better than 50k a year? I’m in AZ so it’s not high standard of living but it’s not dirt cheap either.

Any tips in getting to a new line of sales from fitness?

You need a bachelors. Best sales jobs are all corporate and require a degree, high level sales need booksmarts as well as street. You *could* lie and use charisma at interview to get through. Recommend AE role for FDX/UPS good place to start corpo experience and build up to jump to saas sales.

>>53957897
See that's just the thing, we dont have a geographic territory so we all just poach each others accounts when we can after they fall out of a 21 day rule of engagement.

>>53958077
You could try just lying about a degree honestly, I literally dont see why not. Try networking and having someone that likes you land you a job, all the best territories and accounts usually go to someone who knew someone

Salesbros. I really want to get into sales, I have a degree in IT and was looking at some SDR positions. But I have a horrible speech impediment where I kinda sound like a Brit with a rubber duck in his throat when pronouncing the "er" sound. Is sales out of the question for me? I have a lot of industry knowledge I'm not scared of cold calling people, I just sound a bit retarded sometimes.

wfh salescuck reporting in. I don't have a BA like these other chads but I make around 90k. My friend has spent 3 years building a startup that does SEO marketing and he wanted me to jump on board. I cold called 8 businesses and got my first client. 5k for website and $1500 per month advertising, they just signed the proposal today. Feels good. Maybe if I stick with him he will make me super director chief of sales chad above all the peons.

he wants me to build a team, he said I can have a decent salary + commission + residuals for anything my reps do. Is this the path to the promise land?

Lol this is what I do, anon. You can make extraordinarily good money at it. I sell commerical insurance jobs. I've got 15 million dollars of them lined up, but goddamn if it isn't a bitch to get them to pay. I used to resolve these myself, but now it takes a PA, engineer, forensic meteorologist, an attorney, and myself writing a goddamn dissertation on why the insurance companies' forensic engineering firm is retarded. The money is amazing, which is why I put up with it. I'm not on a direct percentage of the contract price or a profit+overhead split. I'm just on a 50/50 profit split because I do all the fucking work (work to get it approved, order, manage, and collect). I finally had one of these go through I've been waiting on for 6+ months. It's 1.1 million dollars for 550 SQ, of which approximately 250k is mine. I've got another 4.5 million dollar monster that is with the Hartford legal department now for review. If they pay, I'll stay here and wait for hail season. If they don't, I'll send him to the attorney (already been prepped) for suit and go to Florida to work hurricane claims.

Salesmen of are the most scheeming, calculating, lying, backstabbing smugs on planet earth. I cant believe anyone ever would buy from a salesman and not do their own research, or how its even a profession at all to begin with. Every salesperson Ive known is a massive sociopath with a huge ego. You cant trust them.

do you work with one specific roofing contractor?

>> No.53967020

>>53966254
Yes. It's hard to find someone that's not going to fuck you. If you haven't been fucked by at least one roofer out of a five figure amount, then you haven't been doing it professionally. I have been thinking about getting an IBEC and roofing consultant certification to do claims consultation on the side. Claims work has been exponentially harder to close, so I've been thinking about doing the consulting thing to try and keep a steadier flow of money. It sucks to get a few gigantic paychecks a year sometimes. Until last week, I haven't had a check since October of last year (granted that check was a six figure amount). I am 100% commission with no salary.
I don't do retail work, because that shit sucks and I don't participate in the race to the bottom. I had a real job before I got with this company at a very, very large roofing company running their claims department. They wanted to do that Rodney Webb bullshit on insurance claims work, so I just went back being a pirate and found a job in Colorado Springs during the monster hailstorms in 2018.

>> No.53969031

>>53967020
Interesting, so claims consulting would be the building owner pays you to make sure the insurance company doesn't shortchange them?
For the sales job, so that would mean your territory is whatever the range the company is able to cover?
