I'm 35 and in debt. I might as well have committed murder in my teenage years, served time in prison with free food and shelter and get out at 35.

Why do Americans think you're supposed to get a paid vacation on your birthday?

I just don't get it. In Europe we have a set amount of vacation days per year. You can take one on your birthday if it's so important with you, but giving value to your birthday seems childish.

Bongs are in denial about how American they are at this point
>>53945641
Don't listen to faggots online, any American who isn't a complete failure has plenty of vacation. It's just a private company matter and the government is not involved

This. We didn't need a government mandate to get Saturday's off, we got Saturday's off since employers fought over labor when Henry Ford gave all his workers Saturday off. Like now, we don't need government mandates to enforce a hybrid work environment, jobs are offering it to entice employees. All of this implies you don't work retail of course where you would work in person, possibly on weekends.

Your reasoning is idiotic.

Without the government enforcing labor standards we would only have weekends when there is a shortage of labor.

if there is a labor surplus and firms don't need to draw in workers they could take everything they offer you away.

Name one government law/mandate that enforces employers to give weekends off.
>if there is a labor surplus and firms don't need to draw in workers they could take everything they offer you away.
Stop thinking everything as stationary. If there's an over supply of labor, those laborers will switch jobs/ industries if employers give them shitty deals.

This. Why should you have free on your birthday?

Where I work people bring cake, muffins or bread + meat/cheese when it's their birthday. I will probably bake a cake (or maybe two) for mine.

On the whiteboard is written ROTATE which is taking the products with the earliest use by dates, and putting them at the front of the shelves so that customers take those and there's less wastage. It makes me laugh its written like that because it's so basic yet something supermarket employees never do properly, and it's a pain in the ass for supervisors to check because you basically have to do the job of it to check it anyway. I hated my time as a wagie because I was the only one that did anything properly.

I know that feel, bro. I chalk it up to being a NEET until I was nearly 24 when I got my first ever real job; until then all I did was attend community college and play video games, etc. Then when I got my first real job I would blow my paycheque every week on going out, upgrading my old shit, etc. And the worst part was I got into my first ever long-term relationship around then; so she basically made sure that I was never gonna save a dollar. All of a sudden; 12 years have passed. I just wish I got into crypto earlier.

Lol well that's what I do when I shop. I've noticed Tesco, the supermarket in the pic, only keeps small amounts of bread on the shelves at one time, so there is no choice of dates. Whereas Sainsburys where I worked wanted to have a whole aisle with all shelves filled, managing dates was such a pain, and of course people would never want a loaf thats got tomorrow's date on so would rummage around and fuck everything up getting to the week long bread at the back.

Reminder that if you don't take your own birthday off you might as well just kill yourself now.

iktf bro. I've been working my ass off since highschool and was managing to keep a few thousand positive in my account but when covid hit and I realized that I've been a wagie slave my whole life for peanuts I stopped caring and now I will never financially recover.
The plan is simple: Just don't pay anything back LOL what are they gonna do? Move to another country if you have to.
