I miss the ease of the military but the Navy has gotten very shitty as of late. I have no regrets of leaving. But its not a black and white change

I would implore you to consider your GF feelings, but also consider the more pressing issues like your free time and income to spend with her. I can guarantee you many people who work in LM and defense contractors are not war hawks at all or give a shit about the political spectrum. Most just want to be safe, have a secure career and go home at a reasonable hour. The people I work with for example are pretty liberal and most have seen or been in theater and want no part of conflict.

While defense contractors are often cushy jobs they have their own flavor of bullshit. Lockheed for example makes a lot of electronics/sonar for the Navy but they are heavily slanted towards their aviation department, meaning everything like Navy/maritime gets the shaft when it comes to funding, parts and overall support in typical corpo cunt fashion which just makes learning your job harder. You will also be dealing with many functionally retarded people who are in the military and thats just a fact of life.

Is it double or triple you're current salary? If so, it might be worth trying to call her bluff or losing the girl for. Serious question: do you think that you'd have a long, happy life with her if you left that job? You could probably make that amount of money elsewhere, but would you be happy staying with her? If you think you'd resent her or that it wouldn't work in the future, then take the job and she'll have to deal with it or leave. She's likely to resent you, so ideally she will leave or you'll have to end it anyway. A defense contractor job for great pay can set you up with a solid foundation for the future, but you don't want to be old and regretting that you never found someone you loved as much as her again.
