I always take one or two items for free every time I self-checkout at the grocery store.

Not my problem they raised prices by like 50%.

the cameras watching self-checkout have facial recognition technology and they keep a running tally of how much you've stolen; if you keep stealing from the same store they eventually have proof you stole a felony amount of groceries and they'll use that to arrest you

My state prohibits grocery stores from providing plastic bags, so customers have to purchase a reusable bag or pay an extra 5 cents per paper bag. I typically scan my items and throw them back in the cart and inevitably lose track of everything I purchase. Oh well.

That's fear porn to scare you away from shoplifting. The chances of these stores carrying such technology or even using it is low. I'll continue to take my groceries for free without any fear. Unless the cops show up at my door, which they haven't yet I think I'm good. It's not like the wagies there can even stop me, they can't and won't, and don't care enough to do so.

>> No.53781458

>>53781371
On top of that that's not even facial recognition. Sure they can tell the difference between an almond and a peanut, and it can probably tell that I'm a human being, but it cannot identify me so it's basically completely useless. There is no such thing as a camera that can recognize one based on their identity. Again even if there was o doubt grocery stores would spend money on it.

>pppppssssst.......

Little tip from a former tesco shelfie here....

The reduced price stickers aren't anything particularly special, they're just yellow sticker with a barcode.

Now.... small brains will just peel those off the reduced loaves of bread and stick them in new ones in very obvious manner en masse which the person watching the cctv can see.

A big brain would dress semismart, shop normally, avoid the alcohol and toiletries section (e.g. Razors and makeup, which are more carefully watched), maybe buy a few reduced food items, then just photograph / scan the sticker and print a few more discounts at home. Whilst in the store, they would have some of these concealed in their hand, and act normal. They'd buy one or two regular items, like a jar of coffee for £8, but one of those stickers that registers for a reduced loaf at 45 pence might accidentally get stuck over the barcode on the coffee.

They don't monitor the checkout feed from the security desks in these big stores. The staff at the self serve are mainly watching for obviously erroneous scans, e.g. someone has bought a bottle or two of spirits, crisps and milk but it's gone through at £3.

The key is... subtle. Not 8 jars of premium coffee every basket. Or 8 bottles of reduced spirits (which don't get reduced). Or going in there everyday to buy another two jars of coffee.

Just bit by bit.

Mix it up, get some discounts elsewhere the next shop.

It's also possible for this to actually happen in the stores because they'll usually be some passed off wagie in thr back mass stamping the reductions, so they can get the labels mixed up going through fifty packs of random stuff. Just stick them over the original barcode.

Don't tell that that chancellor of exchequer, rishi or that Martin Lewis guy I let you in on this little money sava gem

Every little helps.
