What software should I use to organize my receipts and finances so that I can keep track of things.

What do you mean? Use excel or google sheets for basic budget (google has a nice template) and use your existing file directories for storing/organizing receipts and other financial documents. Might need to buy a cheap USB scanner for your computer. Back up to the cloud. Simple as.
You don't need any special software or other high tech tools unless you've got a complex situation, like legal requirements, business expenses, etc.
If you're just a normal dude who needs to know where his money is going and needs to keep track of everything, start with a basic budget and watch your spending like a hawk.
bought gum? document it and give it a category.
ate out at a restaurant? Document it and give it a category.
Bought shoes? Document it and give it a category.
You'll quickly see where your money is going.

btw, I am speaking from experience. Took me about 6 months, but I cleaned up by budget and organized by finances by literally just documenting EVERYTHING I spent money on and giving it a category. After a few months of doing that, I had an idea of what was essential and needed to be budgeted for and what else was just garbage. Went from having a few hundred a month to over $1000 for saving/investing each month.

Thanks for the advice. It seems rather cumbersome to use Excel or Google sheets. I was hoping for some software recommendations that help streamline the process.

Virtually all the software is even more cumbersome. It tries to lock you into their ways of doing things you can't track it yourself freely. A spreadsheet is the way to go.

my budget book (android app) is pretty good for tracking transactions and cash flow, but you still need a spreadsheet to track online accounts, net worth, etc.

at the end of the day, there's going to be a learning curve. either pay someone $15/mo to learn, or take the time to do it yourself. I did both, and honestly it did not click until I did it the "hard" way with google sheets. It came down to WANTING to do it. It's like weight loss. All the fancy diets and routines won't help if you if you are not willing to stick to them.

It's good for poors to break out of their caste but takes way too much effort for anyone who is investing.
