chainlink has always been fundamentally centralized due to the premined and leadership control. they're just a bad company riding on the coattails of platforms like ethereum.

long-term if oracles are to be used in places more than just speculating on assets, there will either be multiple competing networks or it'll be built into each main-chain's later itself. there's no universe where chainlink can become "dominant" and also have oracles be highly valuable. it's like expecting bitcoin to be valuable when there's only one mining pool.
