i'm 27, and also used to be a shut-in neet. i'm now a software engineer and like what i do, but i still don't really know how to talk to people outside of work.

any tips on where to go or what to do to become more approachable and learn how to talk to others for fun and not just work?

when i was younger, i was really hooked into anime culture and gaming. now anime just doesn't hold my attention anymore and i don't really play games anymore. i live on my own and just work, go to the gym, cook, clean, watch tv, and go to bed. (weekends are the exact same minus work and maybe i go for a swim if weather permits).

i can go a week without talking to someone else outside work and i don't know where i should go to put myself in these uncomfortable situations

I got a sale jobs right after graduation and this was a huge fucking mistake. I hate stupid coworkers and idiotic clients, the obligation to communicate with these 90 IQ imbeciles is killing me. My contract ends in a few months and I literally counting days. Sales jobs AREN'T MEANT for anyone more intelligent than a potato.
