the truth is that the real cost, as normie and npc as it sounds, is that you're simply putting shit in your lungs that it wasn't designed or optimized for. charring your lungs and breathing smoke does nothing good for your health. the dopamine you get is like the satiation you get from eating a seed rather than allowing it to grow into a plant. short-term pleasure.

drinking is the same, killing your liver and putting you at risk of debilitating mental illness. most familial abuse has its roots in alcoholism. the ones that can enjoy alcohol are those that know how to moderate and discipline their moderation; they are in the minority.

im rich
all my weed is home grown
it took like 6 hours with my girlfriend to trim two plants which is like 4x what we will smoke in a year.
i make ~60/hr at my company, she slightly less. Assuming the same our smoking habit cost us
60*6*2 = $360 for the year
but this also includes all the weed we give to frens
also we enjoy trimming the plants together.

in my mind doing any one of these things is just a form of self-harm.
