Tokens that actually have a reason to exist other than speculation will survive the inevitable bitcoin crash and retain value best in the alt bubble pop. It's no surprise.

Will LINK overtake btc as "store of value" in 2018?

This is the first time this happens tho
8 days ago when bitcoin crashed, link went straight to 1000 sss (no, it's not an exaggeration go check the chart)
I wonder what has changed in these 8 days

That was partially whale manipulation. I was watching the sell walls get thrown up at key price points trying to suppress the price below 50 cents. And then BTC spiked hard with a bull trap which sucked some LINK gains away. And then BTC dumped, and it sucked even more LINK gains away.

I don't know that you can read much into those panic sales when BTC is flipping from a bull market to a bear market. LINK rebounded and carried on its upward trendline again fairly quickly after that dump.

It always recovers but everytime it does it slower and 50-100 lower. This time none of that happened.
