What would you do if you were given 1 million dollars as a NEET. Would you add it to your "fortune" or would you invest it or spend it. Im asking this question as a NEET since im wondering what I could possibly do with it to live off of it. Currently live with my family, so one option would be to renovate the house and stuff and then live as a happy neet with my family, except I hate my family with a passion. Would it be smart to buy a house that also has an apartment in it so I could rent one of the parts and live in the other? Im just looking for tips and experience.

>inb4 invest in crypto
I would only invest about 10k in the market if I had the money

You don't have 1 million. Probably never will going by your shitty about the family that supports your lazy ass. Stop fantasizing about something you don't have and try being realistic with what have.

>one option would be to renovate the house and stuff
Why?
Is this normie mentality that you have to spend something?
Just don't spend anything and stay living the same lifestyle.
Live in their house, eat their groceries, use their electricity, internet, water, and toiletries. And just keep your money invested in whatever.
>Would it be smart to buy a house
Why do you keep trying to spend your 1m?
With this kind of mentality, your 1m will be gone before you know it

My house is extremely old and you can hear a phone vibrate on a table from the opposite side of the house, hell I bet you could hear it go off if you were standing outside on a quiet winter day. I would mainly renovate my room or some other place in my house to be soundproof so that I wont get complaints about playing vidya too hard etc, it wouldnt cost me everything im guessing anything from 10k to max 50k which leaves me plenty afterwards + ill be a happy NEET aswell.
>buying a house
I either want to move out or make myself comfy at home somehow, I dont plan on getting old or forging some business, I just want something to fuel my NEET-style for 20-30 years before I cash in and rope out. But it does make more sense to just sit on it and buy what I need and want and just leech off of people like I always have been doing

Put it in a safe stock or etf thing that pays 4% at least a year
You could do like Verizon or something and also place covered calls every 3 months for extra %

Move to Cambodia,
Buy a 70k 2 bedroom apartment with pool and gym in the capital and keep 30k in a current account in whatever bank you want.
Go to AMK finance, they have a great balance sheet and they are owned by the Shanghai, Hong Kong commercial bank.
Deposit the remaining 900k in a USD account at 7% with monthly dividend payout.

Live on 63.000 a year indefinitely in a nice tropical country with no capital gains tax where the average income is about 2000$ - 3000$ a year and without rent or landlords to worry about.
Get yourself an hot chick for 500$ a month and change her for a new model every 6 months or so when you get bored.

If you are a shut in that every day orders western food delivery and only goes out a few times to drink than you can live on 500$ a month easily since you have no rent. Whatever you don't spend every month (which likely would be 2k+ if you aren't a party animal and massive whoremonger) you can have fun investing in anything you like since you don't need to live off it. Crypto to degen put yolos won't matter that much since that is extra money. And if you happen to be good, than great, even more extra money to play with.

Continue to be best or meaningless boring part time job
Our house is falling apart so new house or tiny home.
Invest, side hustles and save for 5 years for the ultimate goal which is ...

To buy a sailing yacht and travel around the world. And hopefully relocate somewhere remote and beautiful.

Pretty based, but I never post this kind of advice on /biz/ anymore.
Because the more people with 1st world income that come, the higher the demand and the higher the prices.
Basically you are devaluing your money by inviting more financially capable people in.
So I always say "fuck off we're full"
