SBF and Caroline wanted to sell off some of their UST reserves to short LUNA (now LUNC) but didn't fully understand how the algorithmic stablecoin worked so they ended up fucking the chain up way harder than intended, causing the depeg. Then TFL started selling off their BTC reserves trying to keep UST pegged and that fucked the entire market.
