Can someone give me a QRD on how to beat boglehead style investing significantly?

It seems to me you need an absurd amount of capital to trade and then the risk is hardly worth the reward, $10k on the line and a 10% trade is $1k, sure $1k is great but my problem is the amount of risk and if you can consistently do 10% returns then what’s stopping you from just leveraging something like 100k and starting a fund

Do hedge funds even make money or do they just scam everyone
