It’s not a scam, but AMPL has been dead for years because they can’t persuade any other defi products to integrate with them. NO ONE wants to touch their tech, for whatever reason. Probably something to do with their team and founders moving so slowly with new features.

DESU the design is genius and legitimately can be scaled to be used as a global SOV.

The problem is the devs are autistic and spend too much time intellectualizing the project and LARPing as Bretton Woods esque economists when they need to be focused on scaling, growth, and integrations.

Two weeks after launch there are only 240k SPOT minted and they don't even have a stats dashboard. Meanwhile devs are jerking each off talking about how its going to change the world and every single wallet is going to hold SPOT without having any roadmap on how they will get there.

the quick launch vid they posted that buttonwood has 2 tranches, junior & senior. and SPOT uses just the lower risk senior ones?

where can i find more info about this (e.g. where do the junior tranches go) cant be only one thats confused im sure its been asked somewhere before

It's all in the whitepaper. The senior tranches are locked into the rotating collateralization basket to be redeemed for SPOT, the junior remains in your wallet after you mint and will mature after 4 weeks.

So if you mint SPOT, you keep 100% exposure to rebasing through the junior, and your senior goes to collateralize the SPOT you minted. After 4 weeks your junior matures into AMPL + whatever rebase was, and you have an option of rolling over the senior to keep collateralizing the SPOT.
