A lot of married couples share toothpaste tubes and end up fighting over one of them "squeezing the tube in the middle." This tool makes it basically impossible/irrelevant because you're guaranteed to get the maximum amount of toothpaste out of the tube. Less fights = better relationship = you are a team and not breaking up anytime soon = keep half your money

Let's run the numbers for toothpaste:
One of those tube squishers will cost you $10.
I doubt you're wasting 1/3rd of toothpaste without it. Let's say 1/5th.
Right now 75ml of Colgate will cost you about $0.80. So you're saving 1/5th of 80 cents which is 16 cents per tube.
75ml equals 75 brushes, which is 1.23 months per person, or put differently, about 13 cents per month per person.
The cost of one squisher is the same of the toothpaste wasted after roughly 77 months or 6.4 years.
You're saving $1.56 per year per person with such a bad boy.
What are you going to do with that? Invest in real-estate? Put towards your Bugatti downpayment?

Shave like your granpappy during the Great War. Shave with a safety razor. It's literally no different than using a traditional razor and these blades will cost you about $0.40 a piece with 50 in a pack. Compare that to Gillette NuMale UltraFusion FutaMax Trannyrape 9-Fines Glide which do literally the same thing for $3.99 each.

"A dime is a dime." If you don't understand or appreciate that, ngmi.

Not just toothpaste. Anything that comes in a tube. Paint. Glue. Food ingredients. Topical medication that costs like $85 for a tube. You're throwing money into the garbage when you aren't using something like this. No it's not much but it could cover the cost of something you actually needed, and over time these little returns compound.

Invest in a 3d printer, once you get past the "printing useless trinkets" phase, you can create tons of things for a fraction of the price instead of buying it from amazon. Or things that you can use to fix/extend the life of your existing stuff. Brackets, holders, covers, interior car parts, the list is endless.

You can even print your stupid toothpaste squeezer

Peoples biggest expenses are typically housing and automobiles. Housing is pretty much an unavoidable expense, though it can easily be overdone. Vehicles are an easy way that most people could reduce costs. Rather than perpetually spending hundreds of dollars every month on debt and insurance for them, simply getting an older car would save a ton of money. The pennies spent on toothpaste are a drop in the ocean compared to that.

what is the point of having fuck ton of money if you can't spend it on anything because the way you got that money was by basically living bare minimum, are you going to wake up each day, take a stack of cash, smell it, go downstairs, eat a homecooked bland meal, put on your average clothes, walk to your functional eco car, drive your ass to work, eat company lunch, sip company coffee, go home and go to bed and do it all over again for the rest of your life
i thought the whole point of having tons of money was that you could have the ability to spend it like a drunken ape without worrying about losing your house over one night going wild and being able to go to store, see shit you want and being able to buy it

I type on an IBM Model M that's two years older than I am. And I'm 31.

Back in 2014 I bought like a dozen of them, untested and sometimes missing keys caps, for around $50 each. I used a program to test whether each key still works and then used key caps from the faulty ones to replace missing keycaps on the working ones. Then I washed the keycaps and faceplates in the dishwasher. Finally I sold five fully tested/working keyboards on Ebay for $120 each to make my money back, and kept the other five fully working ones for myself and as gifts for friends and family.

Riding my motorbike to work saves me about $9 per day compared to catching the train. (From memory, it's been quite a while since I checked)
Also, for lunch I eat either a microwave sausage roll ($2.30) or a pouch of tuna+beans and a cup of microwave rice ($2.50+$0.50).
Breakfast and dinner are usually pretty cheap too, e.g. oats with frozen berries and cocoa powder for breakfast, and ravioli with canned tomatoes for dinner.
When it's cold I use an electric throw blanket which only uses 30-40W but keeps me really warm.
My phone bill only costs $14/mo because I don't use much data, and I pirate all of my media.
I use the work gym so I don't have to pay for a membership.

I could go on. When my wife and I applied for a mortgage we had to literally double our claimed living expenses for the bank to even believe us, but we originally just calculated it by adding up every single outgoing expense over a 12 month period. Growing up poor made me incredibly stingy, and now I barely even know what to do with our combined income of well over $200k other than just buying Chainlink and putting the rest in our offset account.

Honestly it's mostly for camping. You can get smaller ones and it's a good for people who want a hot lunch after a long commute. But it's definitely not lukewarm, this isn't a regular thermos.

The problem with a lot of the standard "frugal lifestyle" products is that the potential savings are negligible. You are pretending like you are doing something to improve your financial situation to feel better about yourself but you haven't done the math. It is necessary to prioritize which parts of your budget to put effort into based on their relative impact on that budget.

You can buy a tube of toothpaste for one dollar and make it last six months, perfectly squeezing it will only save you ten cents a year. The small amount of thought and effort put into that ten cents has an opportunity cost, and guess what it's worth more than that.

>>52882170
Based actual savings of personal time and not ordering takeout. Easily can amount to thousands annually because people tend to waste that much. Only caveat being that just buying it and not actually using it all the time is the same as the above, pure cope.

In general though you don't save money by buying products, you save money by refusing to spend it when doing so won't kill you. I will never buy a new car. I keep the thermostat down. I will never pay for media and always pirate everything. I repair my own clothing and get anything new at a thrift shop for under $5. I cook all my food, keep bulk dry goods obtained from a restaurant supply store, and am mindful of calorie/dollar ratio while shopping. I use the internet for info when I need to repair or update my plumbing etc. instead of hiring a contractor. This is the shit that saves real money.
