my girlfriend is due to receive a large lump sum of money soon as a settlement from an accident she had at a certain theme park in england, i wont say which one. basically there was an incident with one of the anthropomorphic owl robots and one of the wings lacerated her arm and completely destroyed her wheelchair. she nearly lost another arm but luckily it will heal but she should get over 5 figures in compensation and a new wheelchair. trouble is that they won't give her the money in a lump sum for legal reasons as she has down syndrome, it's going through some sort of trust fund and will be paid monthly. i don't really care but the money is going to her social worker who is a total bitch and hates me for no reason. we've been together 8 years now me and my gf and im the one who looks after her and she lives with me but im not her legal guadian yet as she's underage so this social worker is going to sit on the money and only give it to my gf for emergencies which isn't even legal right? i figured thered be a lot of lawyers on this board and this is a financial question so hopefully doesn't get pruned.
this money would make a lot of difference to us if we could invest it in crypto right now so i want to know if there is any loopholes to have the money given to me or my girlfriend and not the social worker.
