Any 24 valid words will unlock the wallet but the chances of it having funds on it are practically zero.

Ya, but it’s never gonna happen. Plus, my trezor has a passphrase connected to it so u’d have to guess that too.

I tried to get some Private keys by just using the first 12 words from the BIP list but it keeps saying "wrong seed phrase"
Why is that?

It doesn't matter. You can decide that number by all 8 billion people on earth having 1 million addresses each and you still get an equally intranscribable number

there is error checking within the 12/24 word phrase- it must follow a certain format. This conforms to entropy standards while allowing you to recover if you mistakenly recorded 1 or 2 words incorrectly. You will notice also the phrase has a certain flow to it, making it easier to remember

I've been doing that for the last 8 months on metamask. I started by opening a shit ton of wallets to compile a lexicon of word seeds.
Then i made a simple, very simple program that takes all the words in a excel and makes random combinations of 12 or 24 words. The program generates a few hundred combinations of words at any time. Then a widget allows me to open, copy and paste the seed in metamask by pressing just one button. Each operation takes about 2-3 seconds. So far I have a 7.2 % rate of success opening a wallet. At first I spent something like 5 hour a day hoping to find something of value. As of today I've found something like 82 bucks worth of eth or other shitcoin
