So during my afternoon "break" I did some tax loss selling. Took some of the money gained and rolled it into more VZ while the cheap sale is on. But not to worry; I'll re-buy every share I sold come Jan 9th and will most likely get to bag it all even cheaper thanks to Powell and his hikes.
Took the rest of the money and will punt it toward knocking down half my c.c debt. (Christmas shopping is expensive.)

I did puts on SPY around 1PM when it was beginning to go up, by 1:50 my puts were like hugely down from my initial price but I kept on averaging down until it hit the peak at 397.1. My average was super low now so I got out the moment it 396.7 and I was 40 up on my puts. I sold and then got off for a bit. Came back 5 mins later, saw it at 395.7. Well my state (KY) is lowering the income tax to 4.5% and plans to lower it to zero over time. However they did a bait and switch. Service type jobs will now be subject to tax. If you own two or more houses/property you'll have to pay utility tax on the non main one. Which really the only "bait" that applies to me is if I have to get a plumber/HVAC guy come in. So you know its not that bad. The fucks in the neighborhood who do the yard care services will be getting the shaft though.

Historically gold has served the purpose of transferring your wealth in a local currency to some foreign currency. This is not needed anymore given electronic FX systems that now exist. This is why the argument of bitcoin maxipads is that since the global economy is now so interconnected, there is very large contagion risk in the event of a dollar collapse (the negative aspects of the dollar milkshake theory). If the dollar dies, the idea goes, that disruption will spillover into Euro denominated debts, or Yuan denominated debts, etc.
So a dollar failure becomes a failure of the entire financial system (this is what LoLbertarians masturbate over). Analog or digital rocks just become a hope that you can "cash back in" when things "settle down". But the idea that a financial collapse would also not lead to a dissolution of civil order is laughable.

No. But at that point you are likely bartering essentials and not rocks. Rocks additionally have the issue that you become a target if you ever use them if they are even needed at all.
