My girl want me to buy her a new car.
Is a car a good asset?
I mean unironically with a car you can go anywhere you want
You need make money, to go to work, do ride share or delivery.
It may be deprecating but it’s crucial to make money. At least in the states

You disgusting fucking simp. If you’re stupid enough to ask this question, you don’t make enough money to be able to afford to buy a car for some bitch. Break up with her now and work on your money and intelligence before ruining your life.

Using uber is now way cheaper and less stressful than paying for gas, maintenance, inspections, insurance, etc.

If you must own a car it's going to be something like a toyota, volvo or an older volkswagen (things that are not cool and make u look like a grandpa)

If you need a car, buy a gently used toyota corolla or honda civic with cash. Buying brand new is for millionaires (not joking).

Or a Prius, somewhere in the low miles $15-18k range. Very reliable and the gas savings are huge.

Cars have appreciated in value during the last two years. I know several people who sold their cars in 2021 that they've owned for 3-5 years and got more for it than they originally paid. My theory is that this will be a continuing trend into the future. Instability in chips markets will continue to bog down the supply chain of new vehicles and drive up their prices even higher, dumping more and more people into the used market. In addition to this, most governments are seeking to ban the sale of new gas powered vehicles by 2030, which will drive up the price of used gas vehicles even higher. Stacking cars now and knowing how to maintain/fix them will be a great investment.

Hi slowpoke. The used car market is actually crashing right now, just like everything else that got bubbled by Fed QE. It wasn't organic appreciation, they just created an everything bubble. Cars depreciate.

Flipping cars can be a viable side business if you're good at that, but they will never be something you can buy and just sit on and earn passive income on, they're a utility.

Crashing back to 2019 prices or somewhere between 2019 and the easy money insanity pricing?

Crashing back to normal levels. You can't take a trend from one absurd year where everything was surging in price thanks to 0% interest and then extrapolate that. It was the most clownish year in American asset history.

Used car market (at least private sales) is returning to normal prices in the interiem. However I agree with the rest of your post; by 2025 all new vehicles will have an internet kill switch, breathalizer and internal cameras focused on the driver. This current dip might be the last chance to buy a non cucked vehicle for the rest of our lives.

I bought a new Audi for 29600 in 2020 that is now going for 33000 on second market. However I got really lucky with time of buying and made a good deal.

No, people are just being sold into the community hype.

Used cars go down in price, always...

They are like GPU video cards, no one really wants a used one.

Buy a van.
You can make money with it doing deliveries, pick up free or cheap stuff on marketplace/ craigslist to sell on, sleep or even live in it if you have to.

I wish I could argue against this because I despise vans, but they're almost certainly the most practical vehicle there is.
It's a room and it's got wheels, everything else is up to you.
