I worked in marketing and advertising in Dubai from 2017-2019 and it was the best time of my life. People were nice, met tons of great friends from all over the world, it was clean, orderly and safe (crime is nearly non-existant sans a Westerner getting rowdy from time to time). The only downside is that it's hot as fucking fuck and it was becoming a meme destination much like every other meme destination (think Bali, Maldives, Tulum, et al) thanks to the hoards of insufferable influencers and Westerners piling in more and more each year. Definitely worth checking out but it just isn't as great as it used to be. Was let down when I visited again during the summer.
