a trillion dollars is nothing in the world of bankers. Hell Elon who is a single man is worth almost a trillion. 100 Elon musk's and there is the market cap for xrp.

Imagine trying to move 10 million dollars with today's 0.34 price. Going into the open market and putting a bid for 10 million dollars worth of xrp would move the market significantly. It wouldn't be a fast or affordable settlement if you paid 35 cents to buy and 33 cents to liquidate. 100 trillion market cap is a notional amount it doesn't mean if you had half of the xrp in the world you would be able to liquidate for 50 trillion. The price would crash to almost nothing if you panic sold half the xrp in the world.

The price has to be high if the currency is going to be used for fast settlement of large sums cheaply. Especially in the use case of currency conversions.
